Assemblymember Chad Mayes Tweeted an update on the status of the Assembly Independent Caucus. As all eyes were focused on the drama around the possibility of a new Assembly Speaker, Mayes decided to let everyone know that the Independent Caucus had lost its leader.
“BREAKING: the Independent caucus of the California Assembly announces that it has taken a vote and canned its Leader.
Negotiations are ongoing and an election will be held soon to elect a replacement. Story developing…”
The folks around the water cooler feel confident that an equally knowledgeable and equally experienced leader will take over immediately since Mayes is the only member of the Independent Caucus.
Thank you for a moment of levity.
